Power Topic - Sizzlin' Summer: School's out for summer. To help your family make the most of those lazy, hazy, crazy days, right through August, check out these tried-and-true tips.

Education 101: Start here for a quick rundown on the buzzwords and breakthroughs in schooling and education reform, and what they really mean for you and your child.

Charter Connection: Charter schools are innovative, public schools designed by educators, parents or civic leaders that are open by choice, accountable for results, and free from most rules and regulations governing conventional public schools.

School Choice: The term "school choice" means giving parents the power and opportunity to choose the school their child will attend. School choice means better and more abundant educational opportunities for all families, not just for those who can afford them.

Curriculum: For most parents the very thought of questioning what's going on in the classroom can be very intimidating. It shouldn't be, and CER is here to offer sound advice on what should be going on in the classroom.

Standards: It might come as a surprise, but many schools around the country do not set high standards for all children. As a parent you need to know your school's standards, and whether or not they're set to ensure your child reaches the highest levels of achievement.

ABCs of Teaching: The single most influential person in your child's education, after you, is your child's teacher. Become knowledgeable about issues concerning teachers and quality, and learn how to communicate with your child's teacher to ensure an excellent educational experience.

Get Active! As a parent, you have the right and responsibility to stand up and demand the best education for your child. One person can make a difference, and that person is you! And CER is here to help!
